"Photography has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them." - Elliott Erwitt
The ARTof photography had always intrigued me. Growing up in the Bronx, I was lucky enough to live near one of the world's largest, and most photographed cities. But it wasn't until college that I was introduced to my true love in life: film.
The reason I pursued a broadcast journalism career was because for so long, I aspired to be an anchorwoman; Anderson Cooper and Scott Pelley among my idols. I dreamed of working for CNN, traveling the world and broadcasting my own exceptional news stories through professional, compelling journalism. Unbeknownst to me, it would be my first video editing class midway through college that changed my dream career almost immediately. Thus far, I had never connected so deeply and so naturally with work I had just learned to do. Editing became my every thought as if something had ignited in me.
I began envisioning myself shooting and editing television commercials, music videos, alluring movie trailers, gripping documentaries, riveting drama series and even Academy Award-winning films. Winning awards for outstanding production, editing and directing is something I will accomplish through diligence, devotion and time. My goals are not ambitious, they are certain. My creativity and visions are infinite; I know I can and will produce phenomenal work.
After a rewarding four years at Penn State University, I am eager to pour my soul into the ART of film and have the world recognize my innate talent.
